Helped a lost Sheltie found her owner
Last night at 10pm while on the road, Buttercup and Mummy saw a lost Sheltie running in front of a fast moving lorry. Buttercup quickly hopped out of the car and chased after the Sheltie. Another gentleman, most probably another dog lover, also helped Buttercup to catch the Sheltie. The Sheltie ran all over the neighbourhood crossing roads full of traffic. It was so dangerous! Mummy went home to get me, an extra leash, collar and some water for the Sheltie. I knew I was on a mission and I was very focus. I ran and chased after the Sheltie while dragging my Mummy along. I was barking and calling the Sheltie to stop running. The Sheltie appeared very frightened! She was running away from us. Mummy was too tired and couldn't run fast enough and lost sight of the Sheltie.
After one hour of chasing the Sheltie ran into the lift. Finally Buttercup was able to put on a collar and leashed her. Buttercup asked around and found out that the dog looks familiar and live in the neighbourhood. Then Buttercup and Sheltie went from floor to floor looking for her owner. Finally the Sheltie led Buttercup in front of a door at 7th floor. Buttercup knocked and an Indian guy answered the door. YES! The Sheltie does belong to the family. They thanked Buttercup for bringing their dog back. They said that they didn't know that the dog sneaked out. They thought she was sleeping in the room. What an eventful night for all of us.

Cookie swallowed 1 meter long string
The next day in the evening, after meal Cookie went to poo. A long string came out of her anus and was stuck half-way. Mummy helped her to pull out the string. In order for Cookie to relax so that the string can come out, Buttercup helped to soothe Cookie while Mummy slowly pulled the string out. About 1 meter of the string finally came out together with the poo! It was not a pretty sight.

Teeth Cleaning
As Mummy and Buttercup are very worried about keeping our teeth clean, we now have a series of teeth cleaning agents.1. Cinnamon & Tea Tree Oil Toothpaste - A natural way to clean pet's teeth and gums and keep pet's mouth fresh and healthy.
2. Enzymatic Toothpaste - Active ingredients Glucose Oxidase and Lactoperoxidase
3. PlaqueOff - Contains only especially selected seaweed. Effective against bad breath, tartar and plaque.
4. Biotene - Enzymatic brushless oral solution. Drinking water additive. Helps to remove plaque and inhibit odor causing bacteria.
Our teeth are brushed daily, Thursday and Sunday we have bones to chew to further clean our teeth, Biotene is added to our drinking water once every four days. We have just finished the PlaqueOff treatment and Mummy is still thinking whether to continue with it or not.

Brown Rice For Dinner
Instead of eating oatmeal for dinner, Mummy has decided to give us Thai organic brown rice. The brown rice is so fragrant and taste so good! I love it very much. Better than the oatmeal. Brown rice is simply white rice that has not had the brown-colored bran covering removed. So brown rice is considered a whole grain. Brown rice contains fiber, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, carbohydrate and protein.

Cookie lost a bottom front tooth
Yesterday evening Buttercup noticed that Cookie has lost her bottom tooth. She must have lost it while jumping and barking at the workers outside. She has another two shaky bottom teeth and a shaky top front tooth. Mummy has this idea that once Cookie loses all her front teeth, she would not be able to nip at children and strangers anymore.

Lost Maltese Returned to Home
This morning we walked to Serangoon Garden. On the way we met a lost old male maltese. He has no collar on him. He made friend with us and followed us around. Mummy and Buttercup got worried that he was lost. So Buttercup went around home to home asking if he was belonging to them. We saw a house with two domestic workers washing a car and an old lady with hair curlers, Buttercup asked if the dog belonged to them. Yes! The domestic workers opened up the gate and the old lady thanked us. The poor dog was lost and nobody in the house noticed it.
We continued our journey to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and have a wonderful breakfast in the morning. What a nice day!

Singapore Botanic Gardens
Today is a public holiday, Hari Raya Puasa. Early in the morning at 7:30 am, we set our journey to Singapore Botanic Gardens.
I took a photo in front of this lake with swans swimming in it. Buttercup thought she saw a big water creature moving in the muddy water.
We were patiently waiting for Buttercup to return from getting us some breakfast.
We were having papaya prepared by Wonder Woman and Dragon Lady.

Cookie hurts her gum
Last night when Buttercup was vacuuming, Cookie went to bite on the vacuum nozzle and hurt her gum. Blood was everywhere. Mummy quickly used ice to stop the bleeding. Cookie was a very good dog, she was calm and licked clean her blood. After five minutes her bleeding stopped. There was a dent on her top gum.
Mummy said that any more accidents with her doggies, she will faint. As she doesn't want to see any more blood coming out from us.

My friend Bobbie

Here's my friend Bobbie. He likes to jump up and down sofa and table. His Mummy has called my Mummy in three occasions for the vet's telephone number to go to the vet because Bobbie has sprained/dislocated his legs. One time he jumped into the bath tub and stayed there for the whole day as he couldn't get out.Saturday, September 20, 2008
My Wounded Left Leg
When I woke up from the anaesthesia at 3:00 pm, I saw Mummy and Buttercup. I was quiet and tired. I got a 2.0 cm deep cut into my muscle wound on my left leg. For the next seven days I can only do short walks. I can not jump onto the sofa, or stand on my hind legs. The vet did such a good job on cleaning up my wound. I am on antibiotics for the next seven days.Friday, September 19, 2008
Billie Jean is bitten by JRT, Winston
Billie Jean was at the dog run this morning. There was a JRT, Winston, playing fetch ball. Then he dropped his ball next to B J’s drinking cup, and started to drink the water. B J went over to smelled his ball. Winston got so possessive of his ball and he started to fight B J. B J quickly submitted! Winston’s owner quickly pulled up Winston who was showing his aggression. I didn’t know B J was bitten at the left leg. So I quickly walked B J out of the dog run. Nicki’s Mummy pointed out to me that B J was limping. And I saw blood gushing out of her left leg. I quickly carried B J in my arm and Nicki’s Mummy came to rescue. We cleaned up the wound, poured water over it, and wiped it with tissue paper. B J was traumatized. As I was so traumatized myself, I did not take down Winston’s owner’s handphone number.
Now B J is at the vet. Her left leg was shaved so that the vet can check her wound thoroughly. B J is so scared that her gum appears whitish, not pinkish. My T-shirt is bloody from carrying B J. Painkiller is injected. She is sedated and the wound will be stitched up. I will be picking her up from the vet later this afternoon.

This is Cookie eyeing the mooncakes.
This is me hoping to get a bite of the mooncakes. Sometimes I drool...

Cookie Posting
Cookie on a see-saw. She loves doing agility, and very good at it. I don't do agility as Mummy is afraid that I may hurt my backbones.
It's been awhile since I posted Cookie's photos on my blog. Thought her friends may miss her. Here are Cookie's latest photos while she celebrated her ninth year-old birthday. Do you think she has aged when compared to her younger photo? This evening when Mummy walked me to Bishan Park, I met Jack and Joey. They are really fit and active. Jack looks good for his age too.
