Punggol Park

We went to Punggol Park for a walk. There is a Bliss Cafe which opens only in the evening. The park is nice to walk. It is smaller than the Bedok Reservoir. For free parking we have to be there before 9am.

New Cage for Chilli, Mata Puteh

The mata puteh/silver eye bird is named Chilli. She got a new bigger cage today so that she can exercise her wings. Her left wing feathers were cut off by the man who abandoned her. Hopefully her wings will grow back eventually. This morning she got a shower. Cookie and I are very interested in Chilli. Mummy put the new cage on top of the washing machine, making sure we can not disturb her.

Bishan New Bigger Dog Run

This morning we went to the bigger area of dog run.. there are two areas, one smaller one, and this one bigger one. Not bad... I have great time fetching ball and barking and demanding Mummy to play with me. Along the walking path there are lamp posts... so nice!

Mata Puteh / Silver Eye Chirping Already

Mata Puteh is eating fruit today.... Active in the cage.. looks like it is going to recover

A bowl of water for it to take a bath.. One side of the wing feathers are missing.. and today the other side feather is coming off.. Is there a feather changing season? I hope it is ok and will survive.

The bird is chirping... I think it is recovering and will survive.... Mummy is keeping it as pet. Mummy went to pet shop to check out Mata Puteh.. Our bird is tiny compares to the birds in the pet shop.. So we think it is still a baby... Baby bird can't sing yet, right? Only chirping? Well it doesn't matter.. most important it is eating and active now.

Mummy has changed our chicken diet to fish, as there are too much antibiotics in chicken meat. But Mummy is also worried that there are heavy metals, like mercury, in the fish. The fish is from Vietnam.
The Bishan dog run is opened... We went to play fetch ball this morning. Cookie is really getting old.. she doesn't want to run, and she can't fetch ball anymore.. She is really slow now. Her activity has decreased. Mummy is cutting down her protein in her diet and gives her more vegetables.

AVA Roadshow 2010 / Mata Puteh Abandoned

Ricky from ASD on the Channel 8 News tonight at the AVA Roadshow at Singapore EXPO.

I am at the AVA Roadshow today.. Mummy thought I should get microchipped for only $20, but the queue is so long. So the mission is abandoned. I will be wearing my collar tag.

This is the first time I attending the AVA Roadshow. The event is very enjoyable.

Because of the dog event, the alfresco seating are OK to eat with doggies. So good. I think we like Singapore Expo very much.

This evening Mummy found a man abandoning a Mata Puteh (Silver Eye) at the block where we are staying. The man left the bird and the cage in the middle of the grass told Mummy he didn't want the bird anymore. The man also tried to get some money from Mummy, and Mummy was so angry! No way my Mummy is giving the man any money! He can be reported to AVA for abandoning animals and fined (or jailed).
Mummy cleaned up the cage, cleared the left over dried food with creatures crawling. Give the bird fresh water and fruit. Mummy noticed the right wings are missing.. and there are grey baby furs on its body, so probably it is still a baby. So poor thing. It is a very scared bird.. At first Mummy thought to bring the bird to SPCA/Jurong Bird Park.. or give it to one of the men that gather every Sunday to listen to birds singing...or there is an aviary near our home.. but after seeing the baby bird sorry state, Mummy decides to keep the bird. It is so dirty.. so Mummy places a water bowl for it to bath in the morning.

Upper Peirce Reservoir Park

We usually go to Lower Peirce, but today we venture first time to Upper Peirce. Upper Peirce has more monkeys.. the park is smaller than Lower Peirce and less walking path. We met many joggers..
